6 days Mt Kenya Climb through Burguret gate finish at Chogoria
After breakfast our guide will pick you up from your Nairobi hotel and depart Nairobi at 0800hrs. You will drive to base hotel at Burguret arriving in time for lunch. After lunch you trek to the famous Mau Mau caves and Burguret Water falls en route to Climbers Campsite for dinner and overnight. This acclimatization walk takes 3 to 4 hours.
After breakfast, we embark on our hike to Kampi ya Machegeni. This 13 kilometers trek takes 5 to 7 hours. We shall have our lunch en route before reaching Machegeni campsite for Dinner and overnight.
After breakfast we continue our alpine ascent. Our goal is to reach Highlands Castle nine kilometers away in 4 to 6 hours time. We take our lunch en route. Overnight at Highlands Castle campsite with Dinner and overnight.
We trek to Two Turn Hut.
We enjoy the panoramic view of the mountain and the alpine vegetation which is now predominantly giant groundsels. Overnight will be at Two Turn campsite with Dinner.
We start at 02:30 hours for the extremely stiff climbing to conquer Peak Lenana. After 4 hours of challenging climbing we reach the Summit of Peak Lenana. We enjoy the panoramic view below and after sunrise we descend to Mintos Hut for breakfast. We visit Gorges Valley and thereafter descend to Chogoria gate Campsite for dinner and overnight.
